Convincer patterns

There's another filter people use, the convincer pattern, which has two parts to it. The first is how people know when they're convinced about something or are confident that it's true, for instance knowing when someone is capable of doing a job well. The second is how often they have to experience it before they're convinced.

1. What convinces people that someone can, for instance, carry out a task efficiently? There are different ways people know:

See - they have to see someone perform a task before they're convinced about the person's ability to do it.
Hear - they're convinced if they hear someone else say the person can do it.
Read - they're convinced if they read about the person's capability.
Do - the person has to do something before they're convinced about it.

2. The convincer mode - how often does someone have to demonstrate something before another person is convinced? There are a number of patterns people unconsciously use:

Automatic - they're immediately convinced. For instance, some customers will buy a product straightaway from a salesperson with only a small amount of information.
Number of times - they need two, three or more occasions before they're sure.
